1. Discovery of Tanzanite
The gemstone was given the name ‘Tanzanite’ by Tiffany & Co. It is believed to have been formed about 585 million years ago, only to be discovered in 1967.
2. Tanzanite is 1,000 times more rare than diamond
Tanzanite is only found and mined in 12 square kilometres on earth, close to Mount Kilimanjaro, Tanzania. It is one of the rarest gemstones to exist and at least 1,000 times more rare than diamond.
3. Displays Unique and Remarkable Trichroism
Tanzanite displays unique and remarkable trichroism. The stone radiates three different colours from each of its crystallographic axes: vibrant blues, lush violets and rich reds. This unique and unusual feature makes Tanzanite even more desirable.
4. Recognized as Precious Heirloom
Tanzanite is recognized as an heirloom due to its limited supply. Since all Tanzanite will be depleted in the next two decades, new natural stones will no longer be available for first-time buyers.

Tanzanite comes with its own official certificate of authenticity which verifies the quality, grade and value of the precious stone.
